I'm finding it difficult to put words to this post/feeling/past year/insert pandemic reference here. Needless to say, this rainbow bridge signifies a whole bunch of things to me - a glimpse of brightness in the gloom, hope on the other side of the grimness, a promise of better things to come, experiencing every possible emotion under the sun. Whatever your interpretation of a rainbow is... I'm not sure what precisely my stand is anymore - but I'm somewhere on the spectrum.
This rainbow is loosely based on Gilbert Baker's 9-stripe pride flag. I wanted to get as much colour, and representation, in as possible, even if it is scientifically incorrect.
This graffiti is made of over 50%
recycled/repurposed yarn and buttons (729 of them!) and took over 9
months to produce (like all the best things...), mainly because two
little "best things" at home for long stretches of time kept me from the
hooks and needles.
